Easily one of the most spectacular natural events I’ve ever seen: an endless river of Sooty Shearwaters along the Washington coast. These ocean-dwelling birds migrate 40,000 miles each year, foraging in massive flocks. This went nonstop for at least an hour. Best estimate is 100,000 birds.

In re the covid shot approved today (yay!) and the uncertainty around availability (boo!), here in MA I just fired up the CVS app and registered for a flu and “covid-19 (new)” shot with zero hiccups. A banner message clearly said they are now scheduling for the 2026-27 shot. 🎉💉
