In 2024 Roxie the baby red panda died from stress caused by fireworks. The Scottish SPCA has called for to end private firework sales due to the "intense fear" they cause animals. We agree. Fireworks cause stress and harm to vulnerable people, pets and wildlife. Scotland should end private sales.

There's def some rewriting of history going on re Russell Brand. A lot left wing (and a fair few centre left) men were v dismissive of his misogyny. Even putting allegations to one side, he was clearly as sexist and a lot of people didn't want to hear it. It was a genuine Problem.

They were right about Bluesky being a bubble: It’s a high-information bubble. I’m shocked how much more I know about what’s happening than people who still rely on other social media platforms for news. Not having an algorithm between you and direct information is crucial for an objective reality.

The Iran war is causing devastation in the region and forcing up prices here at home. It's time for the UK to stop backing the war, and for the Prime Minister to be clear that US bombers will no longer use UK bases or airspace for raids on Iran.
Some people in this country have a poppy fetish. I personally watch They Shall Not Grow Old on the 11th every year and remember the fallen. But my town has lined the streets and roads with so many poppies it looks like there’s been a bomb set off in a plastic poppy making factory. It’s obscene.
I think people need to stop talking about Labour "pandering to" the racist right and accept that Labour is a part of the racist right.
