apropos of nothing, we made a board game review that can physically implode your board game collection. if you watch it, your entire kallax (or billy) might crumble into chipboard debris, inseparably mixed with meeples and cubes, littered all over your home. we'll try not to upload it, no promises
I'm fascinated by this new form of PR that's emerged with LLM companies where they leak stories like 'our product spontaneously assembled an army of domestic appliances & announced it would exterminate the lowly hairless apes - we barely managed to pull the plug' to imply it's really powerful
About to play "Battlegroup Clash: Baltics" by @jsbuckley.bsky.social at @sapperstudio.bsky.social 🎲 I'm going to try Scenario 2 (The Battle for Purtse Bridge) ⚔️ 🔗 The game is currently sold out, sign up to the Sapper Studio mailing list for updates on a reprint: sapperstudio.com/battlegr
What's happening is that bit in A Christmas Carol where Ebeneezer Scrooge sees that nobody wanted to be at his funeral, but instead of changing their ways they're demanding that Bob Cratchit post #jesuisRodLiddle on Bluesky, an app for sports that they only visit to screenshot leftists being rude.
Here's a link to the story, for those who can't parse images. short-stories.co/@raybradbury...

The voice-clock sang, breakfast was ejected, but no doors slammed. The garage chimed and lifted its door to reveal the waiting car. The house sat alone in a city of rubble and…

Very close to the end of the family home being auctioned off, which is a profound sadness to me. If you happen to find a million quid down the back of the sofa, and could possibly lend it to me for a bit, that would be great.
As hovis/kingsmill pivot to Microsoft-like branding, we can expect that new but worse versions of bread will be released every year as people try and keep their old loaf. Eventually they will be acquired by MS and you'll have to ask copilot to generate you your sliced white.
Two of Britain's biggest bread brands are now one business – and BrandOpus gave it an identity with no wheat in sight 👀 www.creativeboom.com/news/hovis-a...
Eyes have something called Alloimmunity, basically isolated from the rest of the body. Why painkillers don't help much and eye medicine goes in the eye. I thought it was so cool I did a whole thing on it for my masters. Eyes are cool af was basically the title.
Fuckity-bye to Rod Liddle, a man who cut short his honeymoon so he could rush back and be with his company's 22-year-old receptionist.
"Are you working?" "Yes." "Is it on your work?" "...no." "Is it 2000 words on your first skim through indie-TTRPG darling Stonetop?" "Leave me alone." #ttrpg #indiettrpg
The Skim: Stonetop - Old Men Running The World
It is this organ’s firm and unyielding belief that one cannot review an RPG from reading it. You can review a manual, certainly, but you’re not reviewing the

the bullies at school keep making me squeeze through narrow gaps so that they can seamlessly integrate cutscenes into gameplay without a loading screen.
Quite like all the fibre in my body, it’s kind of identifying the shits you give?

Diving into the plum island horror ( @gmtgames.bsky.social ) for review and it reminds me that simulations set us free by making our choice feel meaningful. Also, zombies etc. 🧟♀️
Many of you will know that I love every version of this
This is sick, I would like to write poem to win a cool chair and hat. Where’s the duotropes for this kind of competition?
Today is the first day of the National Eisteddfod, Wales' annual festival of competitive poetry, music and storytelling! The two highest honours awarded each year are the Eisteddfod Crown and Chair. Gotta say, this year's versions look somewhat more 'comfy' than some of their predecessors!

Not personal: e.g. IMO, this work is incoherent, superficial and badly-written. Personal: e.g. You're ugly. You're hideous. Your tattoos are ugly. You're a bitter old woman. You're jealous. You're evil. You're ungrateful. You should shut up forever. I hope you die. I hope this helps!

Powerkill (by John Scott Tynes) called itself a meta-RPG 20+ years ago: it's a wrapper around a regular RPG, with short sessions before and after the main game session.
I am convinced that "Games you can (and maybe do) play while D&D is nominally on the table" would sell if you could pitch it just right. Like, "Overlays", but catchier than that.
