I fundamentally do not know how to square the politics whereby Democrats will essentially have to tell the American people that because they (the voters) made an extremely stupid decision, they need to lower their expectations substantially for the foreseeable future, but here we are.
This is the main problem. There’s a sizable minority of people dedicated to making the world worse, hurting the people around them, and cutting off their noses to spite their faces who can’t be reasoned with. By all means build the frameworks to box them out of power but that’s not enough by itself

Love how my work handles leaves. Despite knowing when I’d come back to work and my management chain all confirming with HR, IT, etc last week, I’ve been sitting here for 90 minutes playing on my phone because my network access is disabled for up to 24 hours

I read a book about the Spanish Flu pandemic in 1918 that was published in 2005 and a lot of it was beat-for-beat the exact same societal response, I guess some humans are just wired that way
