You can’t get to affordability without defeating corruption and if you pretend otherwise you will fail at both.
"In Yazoo County, where the racist registrar shot a pistol at the feet of a Civil Rights Division lawyer who had come to inspect his records, Colom is winning 59%-40%." I know that lawyer very well. His name is John. I call him Dad.
Some thoughts on the collision of the past and present in the Mississippi Senate race
A queer woman who was openly free Palestine and openly against restrictions on trans people won a Trump +24 district after raising only $45,000 with no help from the DNC and had to call out of work the next day because she now has to serve in congress.

It’s time for ICE to take the masks off, turn the body cameras on, and start answering to the American people who pay for their bloated budget.
The note I received tonight from Martese Chism, a Mississippi voter I spent time with this year whose great-grandmother Birdia Keglar, a fierce organizer, was killed on her way home from a Civil Rights meeting in 1966:
Slow Pulp Snuggle who opened for them was very good, another of the Scandi bands I keep finding & liking, but their entire set was bathed in red light that defeated my inept picture-taking
this is genuinely wild. The Free Press has claimed across several platforms that Abdul El-Sayed “gave his victory speech in Arabic.” The basis for this is that El-Sayed said (1) his name, and (2) three sporadic Arabic words in different contexts: inshallah, alhamdulillah, and habibi.
The owner of Paramount, Warner, CNN, CBS, etc. gave these racist fake journalists $150 million to lay the groundwork for further violence against minority groups in the US:
Every time I hire an artist, I point out the clause in our contract that prohibits me from inputting any of their art into generative art tools. I'm trying to normalize it so artists insist on it in future contract work.
given how popular stoicism is now, I should publish a collection of Nietzsche’s criticisms of stoicism. … otoh, do I really dare risk changing nitwit stoics into nitwit Nietzcheans?? 😬
