Chiricahua National Monument is about to become Chiricahua National Park. After years of pushing, I’m proud this is finally heading to be signed into law. It’s going to create jobs, grow our state’s economy and help preserve one of the most special places in the world.

"Fetterman largely holes up in his Capitol office, lying on the couch and scrolling Apple News, several former staffers said. "'Every day was a battle that by the end of the day you were physically and emotionally battered just by getting John to do any part of his job,' a former staffer said...."

How John Fetterman spends his time comes under more scrutiny as he weighs future in the Senate

The Pennsylvania Democrat has been labeled an absentee senator for years. As he floats the possibility of running again, what has he actually done?

And now the best part: Bot traffic from the #Yandex network has plunged to near zero following the strike on its Vladimir data center. Bot traffic includes automated requests from search crawlers, scrapers and other online services. Twitter must be a ghost town by now.

All three Yandex AI supercomputers are reportedly offline: Galushkin in Vladimir, Chervonenkis and Lyapunov in Sasovo, whose data center shut down after the Oct 8 strike. Yandex Cloud outages also threaten thousands of Russian firms relying on it for websites, databases and payments 👏

I keep trying to think of any historical example where a given technology's PROMOTERS AND TRUE BELIEVERS were like 'we are absolutely going to ruin your fucking life so be prepared like it's the end of the world'

Andrew Curran: Axios is reporting that the top labs are wargaming scenarios for the aftermath of a catastrophic event in the next 6 - 12 months, that some executives now see as being inevitable.

Axios: Top executives at Anthropic, OpenAl and other Al companies are privately gaming out scenarios for a public and political revolt after a catastrophic AI event.
Why it matters: These officials anticipate a large-scale event, most likely a cyberattack, that shuts down access to financial services, internet connectivity, or even power and water.

Edouard Harris: This is our view as well. Relatedly, average people will want to increase their level of personal resilience and preparedness as their resources allow. We will be publishing about this soon.

Nick Farina: Best ways to be prepared? Generators, water, books and DVDs?

Edouard Harris: Power, water, food, sanitation for most part. Parts of this depend on your geo latitude - solar vs propane for eg.

But also: set aside a computer that is not (and ideally has never been) connected to the internet. Buy faraday pouches and tape. Print out essential docs on paper.

Documents released by a watchdog group suggest that despite Trump's promise to fund Freedom 250 events through private donations, taxpayers largely footed the bill. The budget estimates leave open questions about where tens of millions in private donations ended up.

Trump Raised Big Bucks for Freedom 250 — But Most Events Appear to be Funded by Taxpayers

Newly released documents raise questions about what happened to the corporate and private donations.

People forget that J6 was successful. Everyone who participated was let out of jail and the guy who perpetrated it is President again. There were no consequences. They have plenty of incentive to do a much bigger and worse version.
