I see and appreciate the 20-something black male bus driver who always stops the bus so that the door is right in front of the 20-something black woman who gets on at my stop.
On how many sites across Portland could become more developable if those remaining barriers were addressed: Tens of thousands.
Answer: the way we build multifamily housing is inefficient, backwards, expensive, and does not produce the results we deserve.

The competition is part of a broader initiative focused on mid-rise housing development and single-stair building code changes.

Am I alone in feeling La Piedra and The Rock are not really the same? I would translate la piedra as the stone, almost like a pebble. Makes me think of Aguas de Março ("a stick, a stone..."). La Roca sounds more intimidating and like the correct translation to me - but I am not a native speaker.

After Saka referenced constitutional rights, Eddie Lin is confirming with central staff that there's no constitutional right to SEPA appeals. And is also confirming that the state legislature itself is exempt from SEPA.
Now Saka says he served in the US Air Force to protect the freedoms of Americans that include the right to appeal growth plans under SEPA. It sounds like I'm exaggerating but I am not.
