Die Rente ist so, wie sie ist, nicht haltbar. Das Problem kann die Politik nicht alle Wahljahre wieder zugunsten von Wahlkampf verschieben, bis das System zusammenbricht. Wär schön gewesen, wenn hier ausnahmsweise ein Maßnahmenpaket von Expert*innen tatsächlich umgesetzt statt kompromittiert würde.

It does make sense: OpenAI was losing ground and mindshare to Anthropic. They are running out of money but couldn't IPO because SpaceX ruined it. This "our model is a Cyberweapon" is advertising directly to the Pentagon.
tante@tante.cc · 2w agoNo, OpenAI's new magic models did not autonomously hack Huggingface. Per OpenAI's PR blog post (https://openai.com/index/hugging-face-model-evaluation-security-incident/):
So they prompted their model running without guardrails to hack some shit. OpenAI told it to do that, the model didn't do shit autonomously (no LLM ever does anything autonomously, it's always prompted).
"This incident occurred during an internal evaluation which prompts models to pursue advanced exploitation using complex attack paths, […]. We estimate maximal cyber capabilities by running this evaluation without production classifiers used to prevent models from pursuing high-risk cyber activity."

Lots of interesting points in this thread and the replies. It's a genuinely remarkable change that you can have a Catholic prime minister, a Jewish foreign secretary, a gay defence secretary & a British-Asian home secretary, and those are among the least controversial facts about those appointments

Gay people have been able to serve openly in the UK Armed Forces since 2000. Like PM Andy Burnham's Catholicism, something that would have been controversial is largely now a matter of biographical colour.
