After playing an hour of "Feathers Edge" from @clockworkacorn.com. Not ONLY does it have a VERY cute, elegant and cool Hoopoe character you play as. But the gameplay is also so tight, responsive, wonderfully explorative & combat is just SO much fun. Love what you done here guys & AM GONNA PLAY MORE!

I've never seen such an effort to censor a document as I have the Amnesty International report on gender critical groups because of JK Rowling. They removed the report from the Wayback Machine and now I got a DMCA strike on my Google Drive for having it. It was deleted and removed from my account.

A screenshot of an email viewed in dark mode with the subject line "Google DMCA Violation." The email from Google informs the recipient that they have received a notification under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) that some of their materials allegedly infringe on copyrights. It explains the removal process, mentions that notice details will be posted on Lumen, warns against repeated violations, and lists one affected Google Drive URL at the bottomA nearly identical mobile browser screenshot of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. It shows a search for the same Amnesty International UK resources URL, resulting in the same message: "This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine."A mobile browser screenshot of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. If I leave to get a snack at "Processing Vulcan Shaders(11%)" and come back to discover I missed an opening cutscene, I'm going to assume the developers don't regard that cutscene as important.

Let's talk about naming your video game! This is something I come back to with teams over and over again. Naming is really hard. A decent name is hard to find, and a bad one will really make it hard for people to remember your game. Here are some tips.

Something I don't think many execs understand is that companies don't make games: They make teams. And if they do it well; if they make stable, well-resourced, high trust teams, those teams will make great games forever. But that only happens if the execs understand what the company makes.

my belief is that at the end of the day, great games are made by groups of people who have high trust with each other & can fluidly execute a shared vision. which is a small part of why these layoffs are so devastating- it's not just about jobs, it's about these "trust structures" being torn apart.

How to do my typical 2 pixel outline in @aseprite.org: 1. Select an item 2. Hit SHIFT + O 3. Click square + apply 4. Click circle + ok 5. Optionally remove outline where object hits ground Ta-da! ✨

when you work somewhere with a generous enough policy that actually respects you as a person when you're sick or unable to work, you learn two things (really just one): - how often you genuinely find yourself unable to work, now that you're allowed to - how often other people have these bad days too

I picked up this raggedy jersey as my next visible mending project. I had intended to run a gradient yarn through the damage and refinish the collar in crochet. Instead, I seem to have accidentally learned to repair the knit. Curious to see which way it goes as I get to the more complex bits.
