I'm Co-Chair of Halifax Cycling Coalition, working hard to make cycling in Halifax safer, more convenient and more joyful. In this role, I focus first and foremost on the 60% of the population who would cycle more if it felt safe.

Reminder: it’s coming up this Saturday - always a great time! This week, HCC board members are out at busy cycling locations at dawn/dusk, spotting people without lights, giving them free quality lights. All part of this celebration of cycling! PS we need marshals — DM me if you can help.

Decorate your bike with lights and ride with us on I Light HFX, a marshalled 9.3 km night ride. Bring your friends and family along! Sat, Nov 7, 6pm at Dal/Kings Bike Centre. Please sign our annual waiver to participate using the link in our bio.

Great article by @suzannerent.bsky.social I really appreciate that she captured most of my points. This is the only media coverage that does t just accept Fillmore’s erroneous claims at face value. You just have to listen to staff and other councillors to realize that.

Halifax council votes to send report on bike lane alternatives to committees for review, public consultation Story by me www.halifaxexaminer.ca/government/c...

I just arrived at Halifax City Hall and there are 10 cyclists wearing their helmets. It’s silent protest against a report on alternatives to the AAA bike lane network to be presented to council today.

A group of people wearing bike helmets sit in a galley in city council chambers.

“We’re insulted that they listed all the stakeholder groups that they consulted with on the University (Avenue) design, and there wasn’t a single group . . . actually representing people who cycle who would use the facility." www.saltwire.com/nova-scotia/...

Halifax was going to vote on downgraded, cheaper bikeway without consulting cyclists' groups first

Downtown bikeway ready to proceed but it will now go to committees with the opportunity for the public to have their say

I’m heartbroken. My son and daughter in law’s Yuba Spicy Curry cargo bike was stolen last night from the backyard locked shed. It was used every day to carry my grandson to daycare. It is without battery! Please repost for wide awareness. #bikehfx Yes, police report is being filed.
