It's so blazingly obvious that this is true. A university lecturer being fired for plagiarism would not be national news >99% of the time. It was inflated into one this time purely because it fit into racist "culture war" narratives about "DEI".

Important data point here: “A sharp fall in Labour's performance is accompanied more often by an above average Green performance than it is by a strong Reform performance”. The Greens have already hurt Labour even before any direct gains.
"Once immigration is fixed" is a very revealing phrase. It shows what a lot of Labour MPs (and the government) think of us. We are a problem to be solved, not members of the community like everyone else. And our lives must be made harder to satisfy some mythical Red Wall voters.

A question for an immigration lawyer please: am being told by uni we have to not only to issue formal letters of invitation to all non uk speakers for border force for academic conference but check and make a record (ie photograph it) they got appropriate visa.
The UK government must ACT NOW and: • Condemn the Israeli Navy’s illegal actions against the Flotilla • Demand the safety and release of all British Citizens involved in this mission • Stop all arms exports to Israel immediately • Do everything in its power to end this ongoing genocide
I cannot over emphasise how important this action is. Most MPs don't know this is going on, and by the time the guidance is laid it will be too late. Make sure you email your MP now – and encourage others to do the same.

The UK has a “hostile immigration environment” acutely felt by people who seek asylum. For queer folk, this means dealing with patronising interviews, bureaucratic disbelief, and narrow stereotypes about what it means to be gay. Senthorun S. Raj@senthorun.bsky.social · 4mo agoAnyone who knows immigration bureaucracy will know that people who seek asylum because they are gay undergo hostile and humiliating scrutiny. Media reports that suggest people “pretend to be gay because it’s an easy route for a visa” are missing the glaring fact there is no “easy” way to get asylum.
