I have since used CODEX to help me with a relatively complex analysis of microscopy data. It has blown me away with it's ability to write and test code while reasoning the best way to approach a problem. Shouting this into the void in the hopes someone sees it and tries it for themselves

I attended an AI agents for researchers workshop on Monday and it involved many live demonstrations from researchers at my university. It was honestly shocking how good CODEX was at complex coding tasks (coming from someone who has been pasting their coding errors into ChatGPT for a while now)

Seeing the dismantling of science in the US reminds us that public trust and support of science in the UK is crucial. There are some recommendations for scientists in this report (and short summary) on how we can better engage people in all parts of society
