Would Ali have made a great Blade? God, yes. But I think what Marvel lost is even more important. Because I believe an Ali-Tariq Blade would have elevated Blade. In the way that DC is able to have elevated Batman movies by bringing in arty-fartsy deep directors. (I'm a stan of those directors.)

This is exactly why I liked Wandavision and Joker by Todd Phillips, because you can actually tell great stories by using the comic book sandbox if only they weren't so afraid of upsetting the Reddit mouthbreathers...
