I grew up among Conservative politics. This is beyond that now. Defending a neo-nazi candidate shows how far Badenoch has shifted them to the far right. There is now no difference between her party and that of Restore and Reform. That should not be normalised. www.theguardian.com/politics/liv...

It’s disgusting for the Conservatives to ask Jewish groups to meet their ex-neo-Nazi candidate, presumably in the hope he will charm them and they’ll offer their blessing. They should not expect Jewish people to sanitise this appalling choice. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Tories offer Jewish groups meeting with ex neo-Nazi activist candidate

Joshua Bonehill-Paine was jailed over neo-Nazi activism, but has been selected to stand in a new Somerset Council seat in 2027.

Important & informative thread on problems with social care by @mancunianmedic.bsky.social Seems is an opportunity with Burnham up for once in generation change. Critical problem exceeding horizon for normal politics. Early mood music is that Badenoch not rising to occasion. "Death taxes" etc, etc

I don't think that is an "easy answer" - it it too simplistic there are bigger questions - 1 e..g social care is currently based on eligibility criteria with high thresholds and so heavily rationed and limited to people with high levels of need. Very different from universal NHS

Just loving how John Cleese, now reduced to one of his own caricatures, rages about immigrants coming to the UK and failing to accept "our" culture, from his home in ... (checks notes) ... Nevis in the Caribbean.

Monty Python star backs the Restore Britain founder in a series of social media posts

Already, the Daily Mail front page is screaming about "Death Tax" for social care, just like it did last time Labour wanted to modernise funding and provision They are trying to kill the policy before it has even been announced Adult social care is not just about inheritance £

Musk was humiliated in his interview with The Economist editor Zanny Minton Beddoes. She called him out on his bullshit, pointed out his lies and ignorance and extreme prejudice. We need more interviews like that. This is the response of the world’s thinnest-skinned man.

I am once again begging Hollywood to stop using the Greek alphabet for an Ancient World movie, if they can't afford to even throw a couple of quid at anyone with an inkling of the language. Unless they really think audiences are dying to see THS THDPSSSSPS

"A white, British man has been arrested..." When our police routinely begin announcements with the skin colour and nationality of suspects, you know the right wing xenophobes and racists are winning.

I just wish 1 journalist when Cunningham or Jenrick are wheeled on to waffle about threats to Farage's security would say, what do you think it feels like to be a traumatised asylum seeker, or a carer trying to get to work when Farage's well funded hatred has turned a violent mob against them ?
