When people who repeatedly make very basic unforced errors in their ostensibly carefully researched science communication reveal that they use genAI it is less of a revelation and more of a confirmation.

The problem here is that dopamine is doing an interesting trick of framing here, rhetorically it shifts from "I overused or compulsive did something" to "something made me do this" It externalises the behavioural account. Anything that makes you feel more productive can become a crutch, no dopamine

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time.
