As a pragmatic optimist I know no one can be everything you want them to be. But getting Haldane in is grim. He's a thin-skinned union-buster. Also, having seen him in his first job outside the BoE, he's less impressive.

childcare fixes so much. Parents and carers can work, or free up their income for other things. Kids develop better in a good, social pre school environment. This pays dividends in later years. It also levels up society. And encourages the 'assimilation' the lunatic right craves
