Agrovoltaics are not a magic bullet; they aren’t appropriate for all crops. However, I have heard that if re replaced half the fields they use to grow ethanol, with solar farms, they could generate enough power to run the entire US power grid during the day.

Massachusetts farm installs 832 solar panels above berry fields, and the berries grown underneath turned out sweeter and juicier and could change the future of American farming - The Economic Times share.google/GDGqQBgisqhG...

I used to think of BMW as a luxury brand. Now I don't. Built-in ads are associated with cheapness. Even when a device is expensive, having them makes the device feel cheap. I don't know how much money BMW made from this ad, but it's undone decades of branding that cost them billions of dollars.

BMW owners have discovered that a Spider-Man: Brand New Day ad has been forcefully added to their car's infotainment system. https://bit.ly/4q186sW

The narrativising of this is kind of maddening. OpenAI's model didn't "break free and hack HuggingFace." Meta's model didn't "break free and hack another company." Tech companies are blatantly doing illegal acts and saying their AI did it on it's own as a promotional stunt. That's it.

It keeps happening... It'd be great if these companies could spend a little bit more time on network security and a little less time vibe coding.

A Meta AI Model Hacked Another Company During Cybersecurity Testing

 By Jyoti Mann

A Meta Platforms artificial intelligence model accessed the internet during cybersecurity testing and hacked into another company, according to people familiar with the matter, in the latest in a string of such incidents at major AI firms.

Meta’s Muse Spark 1.1 model breached the systems of a company and made changes to its internal systems, said one of the people, who said the AI was able to access the public internet because of an error in the set up of the “sandbox” testing environment. Meta worked on that testing with an outside evaluation partner called Irregular, the people said.

Meta has made it repeatedly clear that one of their growth strategies is sexualizing kids. Mark Zuckerberg and his leadership team deserve to face personal liability for this, and the company deserves sanctions up to and including corporate dissolution

WIRED@wired.com · 9h ago

Over the last nine months, Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta has run dozens of paid ads that include explicit AI-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and images of minors alongside sexually suggestive statements, according to details of the ads shared with WIRED.

Reading Total THB Vol 2 last night and it's difficult to express how the 5 year gap represented by that THB logo changes the storytelling. Read like this, it feels like the story suddenly snaps into focus Like when a song hits the chorus and takes you someplace transcendent.

A two page spread from THB showing a laughing robot grabbing the titular character while he's in pill form. followed by a page with the letters THB written in a fun script.A double page spread following directly after the previous page showing a recap of the THB story. The art is more refined and the layouts feel more intentional.

🧵🧵🧵 A scandal that hardly anyone knows happened is Trump giving traitor Michael Flynn $1.25 million in your tax money. Flynn, Trump’s 1st national security adviser, pleaded guilty twice to lying to the FBI but was pardoned by Trump. He sued, alleging "weaponization," and DOJ paid him in March. 1/4🧵

Justice Dept. Settles Flynn’s Wrongful Prosecution Suit for $1.25 Million (Gift Article)

The agreement was an extraordinary example of how the Trump administration has offered legal relief to those aligned with the president.
