Really wish that people who like to (rightfully) shit on W20's Changing Ways would remember that not only the problematic shit was added in by Paradox in the editing stages but they got Jason Carl to apologise for it in that large video that was meant to hype V5. This is all well documented by now.

Cosmic horror is great because it just kinda invents itself. Spend a bit too long thinking about the sun and you realize it’s a radioactive death ball larger than your mind has capacity to comprehend, so inherently dangerous that looking directly at it will harm you, and it’s just sitting there.

My even more cynical take is that the tagline is basically accurate. Alan Moore has worked marvels with pre-existing characters and IPs; the limit really is your imagination, and most people don't have much.

there's a moment early in the film of Ready Player One, where the voiceover says, "the only limit was your imagination", as the screen fills with pre-existing characters & IPs. It would one of the most on the nose satires of modern culture if not for the fact that it's meant entirely without irony

It's hard to avoid the conclusion that Bluesky has been a net negative for US politics. They corralled everyone on the left into a little glass fishbowl where they shout at one another & everyone else ignores them. Meanwhile, all the pols & institutions stayed on X & are being dragged farther right.
