When the tribunals begin Mark Zuckerberg needs to be tried on a number of charges and one of the lesser ones is training older people on Facebook to think they can comment on anything by anyone on other social media in an overly familiar prescriptive way

Hunter: The Reckoning - Day For Night is coming out next month. So I think it's about time I introduce folks to some of the characters. Watch this thread as I roll them out before the release.

@adamconover.net and i are texting each other just saying "holy shit" or things of that nature a lot lately and it's always about like, did you see g'kar just put on a hat in front of a picture of daffy duck

fascists will be like The Noble Wisdom of our Ancient Past but then you'll open an actual book and the noble wisdom will be "snakes flee at the sound of the mandolin because they have no spleen, the organ of lust" and "electrum makes you gay"

My strongest opinion on My Dinner with Andre is that the game in The Simpsons is badly designed; Wallace Shawn's character is an awkward, disorganized speaker. He has few real insights (and those he has, Andre ignores) and almost no bons mots

the other day i made a reference to waiting for godot to a girl who was bewildered by it even though it was topical but i'm thinking on that again because while watching this i thought "oh god is this what i sound like!?"

the mainstream press praising rod liddle in death are not unaware he was a bigoted pedophile, they like him for it. the people in their in-group, at the top of their hierarchy, getting away with crimes signals that the world is in order. it is a moral good, to them. the bigger the crimes the better

we need a strong republican party and a bipartisan MAHA movement and common sense trans sports bans and a bailout for havana syndrome victims. we need a big tent democratic party that includes war criminals and the lady at the the wellness store trying to get your mom off chemo

Re: Barry Windsor-Smith in the 70s, this isn't in The Studio unfortunately. BWS did a series of Conan-related poster prints, of which this portrait of Thoth Amon is one. I've always enjoyed its incongruous appearance, the way it makes the Stygian sorcerer seem like a Hyborian antiques dealer.

A poster-sized fantasy illustration. The scene is a huge canopied atrium whose walls are a mass of disparate architectural forms receding into the background. In the foreground a stone staircase leads the viewer's eye up to the figure of Thoth Amon who is standing (he's actually floating) on a balcony looking down at the viewer. The sorcerer is wearing green robes and has a pair of prominent horns sprouting from his head. To either side of him in the background is a mass of antique clutter: statues, a small boat, a keyboard instrument, many less-identifiable objects.

GOP here back to doing "sharia law in north Texas" stuff again. Comments on news stories are bleak, man. Total fantasies about the most banal suburb cities you've seen in your life. People telling me I need to get "boots on the ground" in places I lived in for decades.
