Americans, What coverage of the US/Canadian trade talks are you seeing? Cause it seems like most Americans know little to nothing and Canada is literally using the phrases War and Takeover attempts. This isn't going to end well for either country. I will say I'm proud Canada is gaining allies.

Dolly Parton rose from poverty to stardom. She gave $500 to every student in her hometown who finished high school; she built hospitals & bald eagle preserves; her Imagination Library has gifted 300 million books to children. Roger Ebert met her and came away thinking she was a literal angel. RIP.

When South Korea successfully stopped a coup, arrested the former president, and prosecuted him, it sent a very strong message to everyone else: "You can trust that 4 years from now, you won't have to worry about him returning and fucking everything up." The US under Biden did the exact opposite.

I feel like there's an interesting dynamic where Canadians have been freaking out for the past year and a half over US tariff threats to destroy our economy and annex us by economic force, and American friends who seem to be mostly unaware it's happening and don't get why we're on edge all the time
