why does this actually go so hard LMFAO
Sure, sex is great, but have you ever watched a media company suffer actual consequences for their shitty behavior?
Two-thirds of NYC’s income growth since the pandemic went to the top 1%. The richest 0.001% — about 50 families — saw their average income soar from $315 million in 2019 to nearly $600 million a year. It’s time to build a city that works for everyone.
Sometimes you open a social media and it’s not rage inducing.
Really hope they mention super saiyan 4 from Daima in Dragon Ball Super Beerus I know that’s a hot take, but I’d like to understand why.. seems like it’d be pretty easily done with a throwaway line or two.. Anyone have an understanding of the argument enough to play devil’s advocate for me?
the big AI danger is not companies suddenly inventing skynet - that's marketing rubbish, musk promising mars colonies by 2030 type stuff. the danger is companies claiming to have invented skynet and then putting what they actually have, a chatbot, in charge of stuff that's important
Good. It ought to be legally permissible by default to strip him of all his money and assets and throw him out on the street. That is precisely the moment he will start screaming for regulation and protection from the system.
Procreate confirms it has NO plans to add generative AI features to its apps. The company continues to stand firmly against integrating generative AI into its creative tools.
Nice to have a citation for the stuff we all sort of assume to be true but question if it's just our own biases making it look that way
the best thing a new administration could do to cut Big Tech down to size is offer a bounty and immunity to employees who provide evidence of crimes committed by their bosses.
they don't need to burn it down. the leadership ordered crimes to be committed. all you need is for the people who excecuted those orders -- who heard them directly -- to do the right thing for their career and take their boss's job.
I do think “every rich person went insane during covid because it was the first time they’ve been inconvenienced in decades” felt a little reductive at first but damn if isn’t more and more compelling as the years drag on
There are endless studies showing this and also the financial and societal benefits of universal basic income and or housing-first policies but the U.S. never goes for any of it because it would require allowing the poor to receive benefits that the rich consider “undeserved”
“A single-payer universal health care system could cover every American, save more than 100,000 lives a year, and still cost $1 trillion less than the system it would replace, according to a new preprint study led by researchers at the Yale School of Public Health.” ysph.yale.edu/news-article...
i don't think i should be required to work hard and do a good job when everyone with power over my life barely works and does a bad job
Even by reactionary centrist standards, this is an insane issue to hang this argument on. Gaza *is* a case of an oppressor and victim. There's no "both sides" reason why hospitals need to be bombed and children starved.
If the wealthy want their “work” to be actual work, they can take responsibility for when their “work” DOESNT WORK They would understand when applied to those they manage The problem is the EARTH is their manager and WE are earth’s voice The wealthy don’t “work” until they WORK with the world
@birmo.bsky.social on mass murder. #ClimateCollapse
The average Nepalese person produces 0.5 metric tonnes of CO2 per year. The average American produces 14 metric tonnes. Climate change is harming most those who deserve it least. But at least oil companies and billionaires are making record profits. 😐
I mentioned the men’s rights movement in passing to my very not-online therapist. Her eyes got enormous and then she said, very carefully, “Do men… not have rights currently?”
Saving for future use in case I ever make a joke on bluesky dot app.
“woke 1 was worse than our nation being run by fascist white nationalists” is a horrible thing to say out loud but it is the actual position most of these people hold so they disguise it by Just Asking Questions but you can tell by which subjects they cover
It’s mind-blowing that we have literal white nationalists in the White House carrying out unfathomably cruel, abusive, white nationalist policies, and the punditariat has spent the last two weeks debating if some people were too intemperate after a Black man was murdered by cops six years ago.
