Bandit heroes, horse-dragons, beheadings that don't stick, and warlords who become gods. Old Chinese lit is wayyy trippier than you think. And John Zhu built a podcast that retells it in English! See our #flightsoffoundry interview with him at 7PM CDT tonight: www.accelevents.com/e/flights-of...

I read THE LANGUAGE OF LIARS by @slhuang.com last night for a bedtime story and was very very very unprepared for how much that ending would devastate me. Guh. (Do read it.)
How do you plan a creative project that will last 3+ years? John Zhu knew bringing ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS to English podcast form would take at least that long. 12 years and 4 Chinese epics later... See us interview him 7PM CDT at #flightsoffoundry! www.accelevents.com/e/flights-of...
Literally just finished the audio book of The Language of Liars by @slhuang.com and when I tell you I cried buckets, I am not exaggerating. Highly highly recommend this stunning work. And, speaking as a voice actor and director, the audio performance was perfect!! bookshop.org/p/books/the-...

I finished @slhuang.com's powerful, poignant THE LANGUAGE OF LIARS in one sitting. I'm a sucker for SFF that involves linguistics and social issues; this novel has both in spades. I figured out the endgame pretty early but that by no means diminished my enjoyment. Superbly done.
So you wanna podcast literature? John Zhu has been doing it for over a decade. Come see us interview him at 7PM CDT / 8PM EDT Friday at #flightsoffoundry: www.accelevents.com/e/flights-of...

I'm in the middle of Villain by @nataliezed.bsky.social ; it's amazing so far. It's a sequel to Hench, one of my all-time favorites. Just finished The Language of Liars by @slhuang.com , heartbreaking and wonderful. Also Automatic Noodle by @annaleen.bsky.social was a bunch of fun.
I went in to "The Language of Liars" knowing nothing but the title because luckily the first mention I saw was more or less "do yourself a favor and don't read anything else about it befoe you read this book!" 100% agree, top tier experience. I didn't even read the jacket copy or the inside flap. π
so many people saying they wish they didn't know anything about THE LANGUAGE OF LIARS going in sadly hard to tempt people to read and... not say anything about the book... just gotta become this year's Sixth Sense where everyone's all DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU ANYTHING JUST READ
