Having knowledge of right and wrong and choosing wrong with intent is one of those traditional definitions of evil.
It is always a thing of wonder to me every time That Guy says “I don’t wanna be That Guy…” and then proceeds to do exactly the thing That Guy said he didn’t want to do. Despite knowledge, they do it anyway. I assume it must be a compulsive behavior.

They won’t take yes for an answer because forcing people to agree to their constantly escalating demands is how they feel powerful.
That boundary is necessary because there are always a certain number of people who weaponize the language of social justice as a cudgel. They are never happy, never satisfied, spend very little money, and will run your business into the ground if you try to cater to them and blame you for it.
The most successful left-leaning business owners in my area have set a pretty firm boundary of "You're welcome to visit here, hold space, wear a mask, hold support groups. You are not welcome to tell other customers how to behave or to tell me how to run my own business."
"You're making fun of queer people" I think most people are pretty sympathetic to the queer woman living out of her truck, $50k in debt, abandoned by her business partners, who thinks she is obligated to sit through 3.5 hour accountability sessions for the crime of wanting to keep the business open.
if altman felt there was jail time in the mix for releasing these genuinely dangerous automated processes into society this stuff would not happen
we have control mechanisms for this. it's called The Law. these guys should be held personally liable for these harms. the suicides, the thefts, the intrusions into computer systems. they should be sued and prosecuted as appropriate. problem immediately solved

Netanyahu spent about half his childhood in the US. He went to high school in the Philadelphia area and college at Harvard/MIT. After graduating, he worked with a young Mitt Romney at Boston Consulting Group. He *is* a white American Republican.

In an odd way, AI and streaming have only ensured the longevity of theatrical film. AI because people recoil from it and want to see real shit, and streaming because the subsidized era is over. Costs are up and service is worse and now ads are inevitable. People just like a dang movie.
