America’s two parties seek re-election by on the one hand, taking more money than has ever been donated before by the single richest oligarch in the world, and on the other, full capture by a consultant class that makes bank spamming and scamming their constituents regardless of if they win or lose.

WISCONSIN: Early voting has begun! Voting early is the best way to make sure your ballot is safe from suppression efforts and election sabotage. Not in Wisconsin? Help drive historic early vote turnout by sharing this post. Visit 866ourvote.org for more info.

Poster announcing in-person early voting in Wisconsin. The background features a yellow silhouette of the state with "Indivisible Wisconsin" written on it. Purple flowers and a badger are also included. The text says, "Vote early October 20 through November 1." A button reads, "Share this and spread the word." Website URL: 866ourvote.org.

This & nested, and seriously, the ad buys used to at least make money circulate — ad spends became salaries for station staffers & contracts for actors, crew, and ad producers. The money used to get back into the economy. But consultants are already wealthy. They’re not spending, they’re hoarding.

Once mass spam texts were made legal, younger donors vanished, leaving a grassroots fundraising machine that subsists on squeezing vulnerable seniors, some of whom give hundreds of times a day. It’s a horrific model. Consultants get generationally wealthy, and the party hollows out its future.

I'm supposed to be working on a screenplay I got a grant to write, but the deadline isn't until December and since I have time, I have decided to declare today an official "ask an Icelander day". So if you have any questions, fire away. Other Icelanders here, feel free to jump in and answer too.

Unofficial “ask an Icelander day” question lol - have you heard of any Sagas related tours in Iceland?

This video camera study showed that less than 5% of people on bikes broke traffic laws while riding bikes, yet 66% of people did so while driving. I was among the brainwashed who voted for Biden in hopes that ppl would make good on their promises. "Vote him in first! Then we can push him left!" and "We recognize the fight doesn't end here and there's still work to be done!" I believed the same lies then that are peddled today.

In November, Dems will likely win big. Liberals will feel relieved. In 2028, a milquetoast corporate Democrat will win the presidency, spend 4 years maintaining what Trump did as liberals go back to brunch. Then, in 2032, as life keeps getting worse, we’ll get something like President T Carlson.

Can anyone confirm whether it’s possible (and secure) to put a bike on the front rack of a CTA bus if you have fenders? I’m hoping to install fenders but I like the option of bringing my bike on the bus, and I worry the rack won’t hold the bike securely if it can‘t clamp the wheel close to the fork

I’m not looking forward to 2028 where so many of us are gonna keep talking about issues we need to address and so many won’t listen because the motivator of “fuck Trump” will be gone and people just want comfort over doing the work to actually fix things.
