The way you know the website "X" is thriving is that once a month someone writes an article about how great it's doing and begs everyone to go there

truth. if we treat sw programs like ppl, then the creators of said sw programs off-load responsibility for the neg impacts of their products. so, we get headlines like: "a.i. broke out and attacked other websites!" and NOT "a.i. company didn't have sufficient safety protocols & now is being sued."

I'm usually polite, mostly friendly, to humans, and I'll give the deserved disrespect to those trying to get me to degrade the environment and my own brain. The best argument for leaving Twitter has less to do with giving oxygen to a Nazi platform than what spending a lot of time on such a platform does to our brains. It’s easy to see how many once normal people on there, right or left, have truly lost themselves in conspiracy theories and false facts.

And even if they take huge losses during the midterms, we've still got a very ugly road ahead. These people will thrash about and cause tremendous harm. They will keep killing, jailing, kidnapping, and bombing. This is a long fight.

They can lose. But it's going to be messy and dirty. And btw, the midterms are not a lock. They will pull every dirty trick in the book, and then some. We are playing the game at a disadvantage and have to win anyway. That's no easy task.
