I've been writing a LOT of tables for my Jorune game. For example, I'm doing 2d6 starting equipment by class + d66 trinket table corresponding to the characters home region. I normally find writing tables all but impossible. But I have some advice from some tricks I started using to help. 1/7

OK I've never read green lantern. What are the runs I should read? The weirder and more cosmic the better, but obviously great storytelling or art, whatever is good
Sophomore slump? more like strength to strength
Wow the response to my first post was so nice, thank you all! I doubt I'll top that manifesto, but for my sophomore slump, here are some rules for playing elves and dwarves and shit, adapted from my best recollections of that campaign barenuckelavee.bearblog.dev/elves-and-ot...
I'm like 90% done with a complete, new rule system for my upcoming Jorune campaign. All that's left is starting equipment and downtime! It's about 40k words! Going to share it with my Patreon on Monday, and then release it bit by bit on my blog.
Watched Heretic. The first 45 minutes were tremendous. After that, not so much. The funny thing is the movie itself suggests an alternate plot that would have been much better, but in the end the movie is too normie to go there. As written, it's kind of a nice critique of New Atheism though.

Public Domain Art is the lifeblood of small tabletop rpgs, but it can be a nightmare trying to find the right art and license. This week, I’ve re-uploaded my old list from 2020 (with updates) of public domain websites. That's 500,000+ public domain paintings, photos, maps, and film. Link below 🔗👇

So I've been playtesting a new game / adventure. Working title: MACE OF THE MONKEY KING. Premise: the Monkey King's dropped his mace. It's fallen on a town. Whoops! In its early stages, the adventure has PCs exploring a community hit by a comet. So far we're two sessions in. 1/
A little over two weeks ago I released a jokey blog post about what to expect going into an o/u-like LTRP. Now its time to give Baseline Drift the chunky post-mortem blog treatment as its predecessor with a reprise of my first ever blog post. thegardenbelow.blot.im/voice/expres...

Playing the Quiet Year with my wife and elder daughter (17). Her bestie introduced her to it! I cannot believe that she plays in Cataphract games and knows who Avery Alder is. So far it's very fun especially bc my wife isn't into role playing games but can get into this. 🎆

Suppose I'm using group initiative. Does anyone know of any blogpost or forum discussion of the comparative merits of alternating sides in a sequence of phases i.e. winner moves, loser moves, winner shoots missiles, loser shoots missiles, etc. VS the winner does all their stuff and then the loser?
