I’m interested in the emotional response (I have it too) whereby anger at the worst people is immediately displaced on to institutions you think should be calling them out. Labour and the BBC’s weak response to fascists arouses more fury than the fascists themselves. Must be a term for it

With all respect to the BBC, the reason this story "matters" is not about whether it distracts from Reform's conference. It "matters" because it is important our leaders are not conspiring to break the law.

I would love to breathe new life into this little gem… but I NEED funding! I may well eventually turn to you good people, but if there’s an arts-loving benefactor out there who fancies putting their shirt on a passionate, highly-qualified player, then do give me a shout.🙏🏻 Please RT, folks! x

Oh my… if only I had the money (or the backing) I’d buy this place (adjacent to The Piece Hall in Halifax) & run it as Artistic Director. I was once its Patron. A jewel in Yorkshire’s magnificent crown, please someone rescue/revive this little diamond. 💎 🙏🏻 www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/news/people/...

If the people responsible for foreign policy in the Trump administration were actively trying to destroy the US's global influence, and thus its power, it's hard to imagine what they'd have done differently in the last few days - let alone the last 18 months.

And here we are, three weeks in. Unmanaged hegemonic decline doesn't really do justice to either the speed or the lack of control - less like an unmanaged decline and more like a drunk gibbon roller skating down a greased ski-jump.
