I don't tend to get teary over celebrity deaths, but I'm pretty crushed to hear about the passing of Screaming Mad George. One of the most important artists in the world to me, one of the few remaining heroes of mine I really wanted to meet. The world is a better place with his monsters in it.

Sad news. Screaming Mad George has passed away at age 69. An absolute master of his craft, he created practical effects for countless films. They were usually horror films, and gory ones too. Just a brief look at his filmography will show you how damn talented he was. Rest in peace.
