Trump told you he’d run America like a business. He is. It’s called asset stripping. You go in, sell the profitable pieces, gut the workforce, load it with debt, & walk away rich while everyone else holds the bag. Venture capitalist politics. Cartoon by Jorge Gonzalez

Cape Verdeans are now honorary Philadelphians because that was basically ROCKY. They weren't "supposed" to be there, much less going the distance with the champions and the GOAT, who had to give it everything they've got just to eek out a win in overtime. Bravo.

#ResistanceRoots Marion Post Wolcott was born on this day in 1910 in Montclair, N.J. She was a documentary photographer who traversed thousands of miles alone across the U.S. to capture the contrast between America’s wealthy elite and its most vulnerable citizens during the Great Depression. /1

Marion Post Wolcott photographing rural poverty in Kentucky, 1940. Before she ever picked up a camera for the FSA, she was a deeply committed political radical. Her involvement in the anti-fascist movement was the catalyst that transformed her from a schoolteacher into a documentary photographer. She viewed her camera not as a tool for fine art, but as a political weapon against tyranny and oppression.

Without the slightest regard to any ugly details about any candidate in any race involving the U.S. Presidency, Senate or House of Represenatives: In any election I would vote for the mouldering corpse of any dead Democrat over any living Republican. Fascism is here. I want to live in a republic.

One of the West Wing's lasting legacies is Bruno Gianelli's rant about how Democrats respond to GOP extremism by rolling up and saying, "Please. Don't. Hurt. Me." When Ds are told to not talk about something like trans rights because of the polls, it’s “Please. Don't. Hurt. Me” politics in action.

The entire Democratic strategy debate — "moderate" or move left? fight or compromise? — is based on a misreading of data. Voters don't think Dems are too progressive; they think Dems are weak. The actual math on what to do about this isn't even close! New: www.gelliottmorris.com/p/new-poll-d...

I can’t get over how increasingly desperate and worried district judges are — they are doing all the right things — and how they’re being betrayed by appellate judges and a Supreme Court, both too cowardly to stand behind their decisions.

Judge Biery signed the order with a photo of Liam and two bible verses: The first is "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." The second is simply "Jesus wept." Astonishing thing for a judge to do.
