The University of Exeter has confirmed that it won’t proceed with compulsory redundancies “at this time”. This means colleagues do not need to complete the pro forma, and there will be no selection process.

Feels like an exercise in futility but it's still worth doing because nihilism in the face of nuclear war is pathetic.

Everything is so horrendous but you could tell this incredibly courageous young woman how much you admire her and express your solidarity and say that trans people are one of the things that gives you hope for the future.

The increasingly common habit of screenshotting the AI summary of a Google search and presenting it as evidence must be nipped in the bud immediately. That is nothing. That is not anything, it is not a thing.

rampancy@jancheta25.bsky.social · 8mo agoHaving watched @liesljensen.bsky.social's fantastic presentation at the Early Modern Asexualities conference about an asexual reading of Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, it is truly powerful to see asexual voices speaking not just to asexuality as a focus of study, but also in their personal experience.
