Walter Koenig will be most remembered for Chekov, of course, but he had a far meatier role as the villainous telepathic Psi-Cop Alfred Bester in thirteen episodes of Babylon 5. Funny, subtle, menacing. The role was created for him, and he was a delight in every episode - even the bad ones.
It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.
They always do things up nice for the Heritage Classic game, but I can’t imagine it’s a great experience to watch hockey live in a football stadium.
When I lived in Maryland, there was an Applebee’s a short walk away, and the appetizers were good and reliable. When you’re tired of leftovers and too tired to cook on a Friday night, spinach artichoke dip hits the spot before a passable steak or pasta.
What is your personal Cheesecake Factory? I don’t have one right now but mine used to be Robin’s because they would give you unlimited free refills on french fries with your burger, which, in hindsight probably should have been illegal. But man I would go to town on those french fries.
The achievement of Serbian students overthrowing Aleksandar Vučić can't be overstated. In 2024, they began protesting. In 2025, they transformed a protest movement into civil dissidence. In 2026, they became a political party — and two months later, crushed a corrupt state-entrenched authoritarian.
The BC Conservatives spent much of the year in chaos, losing leaders and MLAs, so I understand why the NDP premier thought an early election could exploit that mess. Eby seems to have miscalculated just how unpopular he was. Devastating result for the NDP.

My old man trait is I don’t believe any shit about “views”. I remember when they had that Ninja Fortnite guy do a floss dance in front of a crowd of normal people and everyone was like I do not like this unsettling man, they’ve tried 3 tv shows with Mr Beast and no one watches, it’s all warlock shit

The older I get, the weepier I get at Ellen Greene's performance of "Suddenly Seymour." There's a look she gives Moranis while he's singing the first verse that is so real, so honest, and cuts through how cartoonish the film is, and it just destroys me.
Hellebuyck’s haircut makes it look like he has pointed ears, so every photo has a vaguely demonic (or evil Spock) look to it.

Leafs looked really good tonight and mostly set the pace of play. There were a few goals Jarry could have stopped, but the Edmonton blue line is still not great and the Oilers very rarely sustained pressure. McDavid point streak continues with two more assists.
She realized she wanted a platonic relationship.

if you ever happen to see someone post a joke you don't understand or discuss a subject you aren't familiar with, you are well within your right to complain, and perhaps even scold them if necessary. you are their customer and you have rights
a 25 year old could not comprehend how bad the dining options were in the median American town in 1996
Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?
They bought the company that was distributing the new Musk documentary and pulled it from theaters. Living in a global fascist plutocracy is wild.
hang on, so Bleecker Street was sold to a Pierre Omidyar-backed group that also happens to back Tosca Musk's Passionflix... and now "MUSK" is disappearing from theaters?
Really, any time you see an account following 122,000 people you should probably block it, because it's one of several flavours of garbage none of which include ever meaningfully interacting with anything resembling a community.
This is "A.i." bullshit and if this account doesn't take it down within minutes, you should block the account.
I haven’t watched a lot of playoff baseball this year, but this feels like it’s going to be a fun World Series.
Could be as low as 2, certainly no more than 4. But knowing a bunch of security studies people is a bit it a cheat.
To flip some discourse script for a bit: what’s y’all’s Obama number (ie degrees of separation with the former president)? Mine is 3
