36, tired. Yer uncle that lives on the bad side of town. Actual idiot. Best described as squandering potential. Im still proud of ya champ. Follow for halfbaked political opinions, thirst traps, and beekeeping nonsense

Finally got my Six Sigma Green Belt cert aligned with my works internal process improvement leadership framework and as I type this I want to get original recipe four lokos, some cowboy killers and black out listening to Stereo Love and sleeping in the back of a truck under the stars in Palm Springs

Whenever one of these freaks goes off on a tangent about their trans conspiracy of the day, the proper response -- from an interviewer or anyone else -- is "well, it seems like you're having some sort of mental breakdown here, so we'll wrap it up"

Royce White is now ranting about "transgender sex dolls" during a forum that is supposed to be about agricultural issues. This guy is a serious Republican in Minnesota who had the party's nomination for a Senate seat two years ago. Insanity.

I think a lot of this idiot discourse is underpinned by not understanding the function a NOTAM is supposed to serve and the responsibility any aviator has to review and be familiar with all NOTAMs pertaining to anywhere along their planned flight route

AIPAC is such a name-brand bogeyman but can we finally agree that they clearly don't know the first thing about what to do with their donors' money

there's a lot of people across the political spectrum who simply cannot process the fact that ethnicity is a social construct, that many ethnicities did not exist within the lifetime of living people, and that nevertheless ethnicity is an extremely real thing that ppl will kill or die for

I think it's both true that Israel is a colonial project that continues to engage in colonialism and that Israeli identity is in fact a real thing. The notion that without Israel all the Israelis would embrace their true wholesome identity as Europeans or Arabs or whatever is complete lunacy

Yeah, I think one thing that’s muddling this discourse is Shein/Temu. People are comparing the perceived “bottom tier” of consumer goods over time and concluding stuff is getting worse, but what’s really happening is that we’ve added new, ultra-low tiers.

Lindsay Beyerstein@beyerstein.bsky.social · 2d ago

It seems like there has been an explosion of bottom-tier, quasi-disposable goods from sites like Shein in recent years. Stuff that's not just cheap but eye-poppingly cheap. But a KitchenAid today is probably better and cheaper than a KitchenAid 30 years ago.

While I don’t agree with it, I can totally understand aesthetic NIMBYism about Victorian San Francisco. I do not understand aesthetic NIMBYism on behalf of Palo Alto, which is a bland postwar sprawl suburb full of strip malls and tract homes that now sell for three and a half million dollars.

They're going to completely drain the strategic oil reserve to keep gas prices low up until the midterms so when the car juice is $8 a gallon in 2027 they can blame it on a Democrat who took office three weeks ago.

The amount of reading you have to do on Reddit to background check any purchase over $50 is wild. Side note: you absolutely cannot trust Amazon reviews because sellers routinely give away free product and cash in exchange for five star reviews.

Not really disagreeing, but a related factor is the research/decision fatigue if you do decide quality/longevity is worth the cost. I do it for kitchen equipment etc; quickly run out of spoons/finances to do it for clothing.

“Radical left” is an empty signifier. “Read theory” is a proclamation that demonstrates not that you read or understand theory, but that you are the type of person who says “read theory” to other people on the internet. It’s all “Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra” with no underlying stories.

Will Stancil@whstancil.bsky.social · 3d ago

I swear to god "professes to be radical left, but spends most of their time complaining about the cost of cheeseburgers and that their household wares are too cheaply made" is an unholy political chimera forged in the consumerist heart of American society to torment me, specifically

Kind of want one of those fake gay jobs where you get a coffee at a local coffee shop and open your laptop and write, like, a substack, or you make meeting minutes. You’re an executive creative director of marketing and outreach and you’ve never heard of a fax machine.
