🌟 Congratulations to Sara Wickström! 🌟 Our Director Sara Wickström @sarawickstrom.bsky.social receives the Körber Prize for her groundbreaking research on how cells sense physical forces, influencing genes and potentially leading to new disease treatments. s.academiccloud.de/ouQdRQ

When teammates jointly present CellMate-seq, true teamwork shows: Big congrats to Tobias Christaller and Philipp Stachel-Braum from my lab for receiving the Best Talk Award at the ISCO (Innovations in Single Cell Omics) conference in Barcelona. Very well deserved!

I am excited to share that I will join the Friedrich Miescher Institute @fmiscience.bsky.social in Basel as a group leader, starting my lab in March 2026 🎉 We will explore cell fate regulation during organogenesis, with a focus on how cell elimination underlies the emergence of functional tissues.

⚠️ I am really excited to share the work of Anastasios Balaskas, an excellent PhD candidate in the lab, with the wider world. Tasos made a significant advance: generating a stem cell-based embryo model that contains both posterior and anterior neural tissues of the late-stage gastrulating embryo.
