Politics and cat pictures. Denver suburbs. She/her.

Received a text from my father: "Yep again. She fell," followed by an Xray of a wrist. I suppose it was technically successful communication, since I was able to infer that "she" was probably my mother and that the wrist in question was probably broken, but 0 points added for style and execution.

And let’s be clear—this information is out there because we took the Trump administration to court. This fall, we can elect a Congress that will follow the Constitution’s call to be a check on a lawless President.

Another day, another impeachable offense: The White House ordered federal agencies to block resources to Colorado because it had punished an election denier. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/14/u...

As President Trump fumed late last year over Colorado's imprisonment of Tina Peters, a convicted election denier, a White House special assistant organized an urgent "brainstorm call."
The goal, outlined in an email sent to officials at five federal agencies, was to "prioritize Colorado for the purposes of ensuring grants and federal support are in line with administration priorities," the assistant, Emily Underwood, wrote on Dec.
15.
"Please come prepared to discuss immediate actions that your department or agency can take with respect to Colorado," Ms. Underwood added.
The next day, the Department of Transportation and the Department of Energy, whose representatives were invited to the brainstorm, announced they were canceling hundreds of millions of dollars in federal grants for Colorado projects.

They should have a Compost/Soil Conditioner category at the fair, with ribbons & everything. Teach the 4H kids some soil science, give the nerdier farm kids something to do with the manure from their siblings’ animals

I was a historian of the atomic bomb decision from 1989-95 and coauthored an 800+ page book on the politics behind the decision. I’ve seen a lot of documentaries, but this is new to me. There were 78 people who survived underneath the explosion. This is how some of them survived. One is still alive.

I don't care whether or not Brad Pitt is drinking again and whether it's at healthy, moderate levels or not. The only reason we started talking about his drinking was because he assaulted his wife and his child, and he's done very little to demonstrate improvement or remorse about that.

Large blunt-faced lizard, reddish head and dull green body resting along an elevated branch. He appears to be cocking his head for an open-mouthed smile.

1. If you do this at my house, you will be quickly uninvited from the dinner party with extreme prejudice. 2. Not only is this going to be used to harass and stalk women, it's also going to be used by creeps to make compilations of other people's children.

Re reporters saying Karoline is super normal off camera: I'll never forget the time I was on television with an anti-immigration think tank person. She lied like she breathed on air. Afterward, I said, you know none of that is true, right? She smiled and said something like, that's not the point.
