Higher ed is being dismantled in part b/c society demands us to do these contradictory things such as... * lie to our students, but in the right way * train them to "think" * provide new knowledge workers * don't make anything too upsetting or challenging * satisfy customers * "upset the status quo"

there's an upcoming game about the Gaeltacht that's doing the rounds on socials that's riddled with GenAI. Their excuse is "I'm making this game in my own time while I have a young family", which is not an excuse if you think of the thousands of games released by folks who didn't need to use GenAI..

The real problem with rebooting legacy book characters to suit modern tastes is that you are giving people who are already established in entertainment an additional advantage over people creating new stories and characters that actually fit the zeitgeist. It is not progressive.
