your daily reminder that the first episode of scarlet hollow is free. 90-120 minutes to play it through once, with easily enough branching content to justify 2 or 3 playthroughs... and that's before you get to the rest of the game 👀

My partner gently poking fun at me by repeatedly saying I'm like March (perfectionist, stubborn, frequently too independent for my own good) meant that she decided March is transmasc and I just went "Yeah, seems legit" and now it has simply Been Decided.
Given you've spent your entire playthrough showing me screens with March dialogue and looking at me pointedly, I think you don't need to bother following through on that second one because that's basically your normal life but with a forge.
What's with the constant 'Upstream Timeout' error messages, Bluesky? Sounds like an old Blue Note jazz album. #UpstreamTimeout
Here's today's Doodl crossover with #InverteFest. Personally, I'd love to see tentacles sprouting up in my garden.
I spoke about being queer in a religious upbringing to 200 Scottish teens at book event this afternoon. Had seven (yes, seven) queer students and two trans students come out to me quietly in the signing queue afterwards, one of them in tears. I will never forgive those who make their lives so hard.
The new transitional insect/crustacean fossil might not look very insectlike, if you think of modern insects like butterflies and beetles, but check out its reconstruction (left) next to a photo of the oldest living lineage of extant insects, the bristetails (right). www.science.org/content/arti...
Supervised a children's board game session at work, the Monopoly session was entirely peaceful, whereas Guess Who sparked several rounds of all-out war.
I’m not tall enough for all this rage.
Thinking of all the weird and occasionally shitty situations my old band would end up in gigging and how our response would always be "Well how do we make this work" rather than chucking our toys and refusing to play last minute.
Seeing some bands pull out of a trans fundraiser because the headliner they wanted to play with had to cancel is a good way of expanding my "hollow allyship" shitlist.

Pterosaur palaeontology suffers from a high rate of early-career attrition of women. With many leaving the field around completion of their doctorate, or, despite good track record, struggle with future topical employment. Please, collaborate with & platform the young women remaining in this niche.

Caterpillars eat plants, right? 🌿 Not always, some are carnivorous! 🥩🐛 Our new paper documents the life history, behavior, and vibrations of Juditha odites. It feeds on treehoppers, then moves into ant nests to consume ant brood! 🐜🐛🦋 link.springer.com/article/10.1... @insectessociaux.bsky.social

The tiny witch homunculus once again transported one of my socks to a Monet painting-inspired pocket dimension during the night. This time, she enchanted my sock so that it quietly hums the Shrek soundtrack six hours a day.
Luckily I have Vesper to cheer me up. Apparently tonight I need my elbows grooming.
Just... like... if I've told you that I'm writing these earnestly as a metaphor for navigating queerness and faith (however vestigial) think about *what* monks torturing werewolves into obedience might represent and *why* I might not be playing it for laughs. Seriously. Cishet writers man.
I love it when Pippa makes her face all scrungly and she starts to look like an animatronic side-character from The Neverending Story
Love it when Something(TM) flares up and I feel vaguely ill all day, but not enough to justify not just doing my day normally, but with more toilet breaks and constantly craving a nap.
Institutional support and protection of “controversial views,” when those views consist of the declaration that some group of people are inherently inferior, or involve “debate” over the humanity of some people, is tantamount to supporting the elimination of those people.
When you allow shit heels like Cofnas, like Stock, like Byrne, like Goran, like Joyce into the academy and then use the structure of the academy to protect those views, you are telling every marginalized person your institution wants them dead.
