I am not first and will be far from the last to say this: I have purchased so many books because I saw them recommended or publicized here on bsky. I cannot urge you all enough to KEEP TALKING ABOUT BOOKS. I know it's easier to talk up someone else's book, but this also means you, the shy author.

The smallest possible amount of work when you don't feel like it -- a sentence or two, five minutes' writing, asking a searching question about your protagonist -- is worthy, and can be the slow trickle that stops pipes from freezing solid.

I miss the internet so bad. By that I mean I miss websites, forums. I miss having a ton of bookmarks of websites made by my favorite fic writers and artists. Checking whenever I could and getting *so excited* when there's an update. Webrings. Sites that went out of their way to point out creators-

Real talk: Don't know who needs to hear this but there's absolutely nothing wrong about being enthusiastic about your interests/hobbies. Life's too short to not talk about things you enjoy in earnest. The world's too cruel for u to hold back the joy you could be putting into it.
