I can’t think of any really bad advice that I’ve received. Some of it might not have been right for me at the time. Much of the good advice I got, I wasn’t in a place to use. Bad feedback that I’ve GIVEN is a much larger category…

If you see this, please tell me the worst/most baffling bit of creative feedback you've ever recieved. Mine is still the time somebody told me my aliens had names that were too alien. Not that they were unpronounceable, just that they didn't sound enough like human names.

What do: whale poop fossilized tree resin electrons & metal alloys have in common? *AMBER*. I'll explain. We start with a possible Arabic root, عنبر 'anbar', which enters Middle Latin as 'ambar', then Middle French as 'ambre'. It refers to a waxy concretion formed in the guts of a sperm whale.

A variety of grades, colors and processing levels on amber pieces. One raw piece, one polished but unshaped, some have visible bugs in them.

Adding to this thread: it’s a common mistake (I’ve made it myself, many times) to think of the motivations of the capitalist elites as essentially mercantilist: that is, that they are largely still motivated *entirely* by profit and loss, selling product, etc. This has not been true for a while.
