Obviously the British military + civil service segregating trans employees is horrific morally but presumably it’s also a security risk cause a bunch of people with access to potentially sensitive info now have strong incentive to leak it, or are vulnerable to blackmail by hostile powers?

If anything is likely to get me to leave the house more it's my fury and indignation at being told the genitals I had as a baby dictate where I can go as an adult.
This is a great thread about Ilhan Omar but I wanted to highlight this one because so many people do not realize that constituent services are part of what your elected folks are supposed to be doing, and it's rare that they'll go out of their way to bring it to your attention.
She once had billboards up around the district with her office's phone number and a list of examples of things they help individual constituents with. This is awesome on multiple levels.

Measles cases reach 42 in rural Minnesota amid outbreaks
All 18 cases confirmed in the past week were in north-central Todd County, which has Minnesota’s lowest vaccination rate. Officials say case counts are still growing.

A reminder: I'm working with @freelancersmake.bsky.social to create an urgent and collaborative arts industry Call to Action on behalf of trans freelancers - is that you? Is that your networks/community? In person next Thursday at Barbican, online in November - please help us spread the word!
We urgently need to speak back to the anti-trans EHRC guidance and stand firm for the rights of trans people in the arts. I'm running two in person sessions at Barbican on Oct 22nd, and two online - Nov 10th & 16th - listening, gathering data, creating a joint Call to Action - will you come?
Grotesquely cruel decision. And utterly dehumanising reporting by the BBC. Trans rights are human rights and access to healthcare should be entirely non negotiable.
www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... I can't really describe how evil and cruel this is. I can't really describe how this is one of the most awful policies I've ever heard, and how much it will hurt people. I don't even really have the words.
Well this was prescient. I'm again seeing trans people harassed for criticizing anti-trans Dems with "you wouldn't vote for a 'lesser evil' to stop Hitler becoming president!!!" In 1932 a lot of people did vote for a "lesser evil" to stop exactly that. He promptly put Hitler in power.
* Social democrats and liberals largely did vote for geriatric conservative general Hindenburg as the "lesser evil" to prevent Hitler winning the presidency in 1932. Hindenburg won. He then appointed Hitler chancellor and repeatedly signed off on every measure the nazis needed to seize power.
Pollution levels in London after 10 years of advancing sustainable transport.
So basically, yeah you can come out as trans but you will be harassed, discriminated against, and barred from using the toilet, and it's all on you. The persistent slide into an ongoing dystopian nightmare continues for trans and non-binary individuals.
Civil servant transgender guidelines leak just dropped:
(🧵1/5) Bill C-39 violently attacks Indigenous rights by allowing the government to bypass their constitutional obligation to obtain free, prior and informed consent.
There’s a MoD guide to match the Civil Service one about trans people. It’s relevant to something I’m working on and I would love to read it but haven’t got a copy.
btw NHS England no longer exists as a quango. It has been merged with the DHSC for more than a year now. Don’t let them evade responsibility. Headlines should read Andy Burnham and Yvette Cooper order segregation.

Antoniazzi is proper fucking ghoul. Like Rosie Duffield levels of seething bigotry
God isn’t it great having a labour government, labour MPs are so great if you ignore the unwillingness to nationalise anything, blaming migrants, attacking the disabled community and the constant unrelenting transphobia
she's explicitly saying that in a mixed emergency ward, like almost all of them, cis men did not bother her while trans women did. no polite fiction of "well actually it's about women's rights/safety". fucking hell
God isn’t it great having a labour government, labour MPs are so great if you ignore the unwillingness to nationalise anything, blaming migrants, attacking the disabled community and the constant unrelenting transphobia
As noted elsewhere: half of the lads went to that Reform conference and came away wowed at how professional and reasonable it was, so we can only assume your racist uncles were on good behaviour that weekend.
Indeed the question isn't why these journalists found racists in Reform, it's why all the journalists who hang out with them all day and have their phone numbers and invite them on their TV shows can't find any.
It was hard to miss that half the press had *the time of their fucking lives* mobbing, rioting and putting the boot into the Woke black trendies and bluehaired pansexuals, giving way to deep, bitter resentment that this guy killing himself spoiled their fun. Sneaky and unfair, made them look bad.
I have always stood up to him and that will never change. The pedophile protector will never silence me.
God, these people are such fucking pricks. He’s dead. This is dancing on a grave.
been waiting for this fast train to Strasbourg. but yes this will kill people.
This will kill people
The NHS in England today instructed all its staff to do harm to trans people as policy.
With much media coverage of a government report that ADHD and autism are being over-diagnosed, a claim which some experts have disputed, half of Britons now believe that the conditions are being over-diagnosed Over-diagnosed: 50% Under-diagnosed: 17% About right: 17% yougov.com/en-gb/daily-...
The "What rights don't you have?" argument was popular with trans-hostile activists, media and politicians a few years ago. After the (wrongly decided) April 2025 UK Supreme Court case, they switched to, "You aren't losing rights. You never had any in the first place." They think we're all stupid.
One of the common arguments from so called "gender criticals", transphobes, is "what rights are trans people losing". The answer is so many. Just today we have seen in practice that trans people are being excluded from healthcare., to add to public spaces, education etc. It all costs lives.
As we have just seen with the NHS, as we have seen with EHRC "guidance", as we have seen with Labour's Section 28 2.0 for schools, as we see every damn day, transphobia is now policy, trans individuals rights are being removed. It is a cruel and inhumane attack against trans individuals all round.
Just had a heads up a raft of civil service departments are sending out anti-trans directions, including the MoJ, HMRC, DfE. DSIT trying to force it through in NI from what I've seen despite the Equality Act not applying here.
if you don't like immigration, you could vote Labour or Conservative, who have decimated this country with hostility to migrants over the past 15 years. Reform are clearly giving you something else to vote for
I saw a few people on here saying "we thought Brazil was good at dealing with fascism, how come Bolsonaro's son is leading" but that take fails to acknowledge the scale of the challenge that antifascists face in Brazil (Google "Marielle Franco 2018"). What they have achieved there is incredible.
Brazil is firmly in the crosshairs of the Trump administration and Big Tech, who are trying to destroy its democracy via their preferred presidential candidate. In response, millions are taking to the streets in support of President Lula. One of the most inspiring efforts I have seen in many years.
