Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

Evan Urquhart@evanurquhart.bsky.social · 4d agoJust read the "update" JK Rowling posted. I'm going to write something on it for Assigned, but the bottom line is that her earlier concern trolling about trans boys' medical choices has graduated to a seething, sickening hatred of trans women.
Me and Erin got so much shit for calling Dems like Turek out when it was only sports with everyone saying "are you going to vote for the Republican?" But we've seen this for years, it never stops at sports! Turek deserves to lose. We will not vote for someone who will take away our healthcare.

There are people, even some trans people, who think that we can give up sports to appease bigots. That if we give up on sports, this all goes away. That is a lie. I have reported on this for years, and EVERY state that passed a sports ban as a moderate compromise has gone on to pass worse.

The single most frustrating person politically is the moderate who claims they want the same things I want, they're just more realistic/pragmatic about achieving them. This is a lie you tell yourself because you can't face the truth that you don't want the same things I want.
we should all be pissed off at this btw. if not because sex work is legitimate work and should be treated with respect, then because you should be concerned at attempts to gentrify online spaces as pretext to court investors and force out minorities so those spaces can become part of a portfolio.
