I will be moderating Fayette Alliance's forum with the At-Large Council candidates later this month! There will be a whole lot of new faces on Council next year - including at least one new At-Large member who will represent all of Lexington. Get to know them! fayettealliance.com/at-large-can...

however the election shakes out, a minor lesson of 2026 is that maine is basically an alien planet where everyone is a grumpy old salt retiree at birth and we should consider giving them to canada as an apology and goodwill gesture for what we did to the Expos

Seriously: Hate Digger all you want, but [pauses for flow of hate] movies like Digger are why we need studios. A world in which Digger doesn't get made one in which Sinners and One Battle also don't get made. You miss with Heaven's Gate and you still swung. You miss with Paw Patrol and you >

The only thing you can really hope for from a mass list of this kind, from that type of outlet is most people looking at it and being like, "Yeah, that definitely could be worse," which NYT has achieved each time IMO. But we all get to be happy and mad about some particular point so it's still fun.

Today is my last day at the Lexington Herald-Leader. After more than seven years as a journalist in my home state of Kentucky and more than four on this wonderful team, I'm embarking on a new (and unknown) chapter. But first, I'd like to recap some of my favorite work for @kentucky.com.

Tomorrow the Lexington Herald-Leader will lose a lot of great journalists, including most of the people who have been covering Kentucky politics and state government for us. Here's a too-quick summary of our losses, and yours. ^JC

This story - an interview with a woman who lives in one of the 60+ condemned apartments in Cardinal Valley owned by a PA company - went up the morning I got laid off. I forgot to put it here, but I hope you all will read what is most likely my last big story. www.kentucky.com/news/local/a...
