Hello folks! I will be going live at 1pm BST today, I have a bit of a hoarse voice so I don't know how long I will stream for - we will see how my voice fares. I will pop another post up when I go live, but if you'd like to drop a follow to get the twitch notification: www.twitch.tv/cascedig

CasCedig - Twitch

Hi! I'm Cas. I crochet and knit mostly, but I will occasionally (and increasingly) do some sewing, or other crafts if the mood takes me! Check the linktree for my other socials, I put videos up on you...

from lao tzu's's tao te ching (leguin's rendition)

excerpt from the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu, as translated and interpreted by Ursula K LeGuin, including a footnote from the latter

76
Hardness

Living people
are soft and tender.
Corpses are hard and stiff.
The ten thousand things, the living grass, the trees, are soft, pliant.
Dead, they're dry and brittle.

So hardness and stiffness go with death;
tenderness, softness, go with life.

And the hard sword fails, the stiff tree's felled.
The hard and great go under.
The soft and weak stay up.

---

In an age when hardness is supposed to be the essence of strength, and even the beauty of women is reduced nearly to the bone, I welcome this reminder that tanks and tombstones are not very adequate role models, and that to be alive is to be vulnerable.

excerpt from the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu, as translated and interpreted by Ursula K LeGuin

78
Paradoxes
Nothing in the world
is as soft, as weak, as water; nothing else can wear away the hard, the strong, and remain unaltered.
Soft overcomes hard, weak overcomes strong.
Everybody knows it, nobody uses the knowledge.

So the wise say:
By bearing common defilements
you become a sacrificer at the altar of earth; by bearing common evils you become a lord of the world.

Right words sound wrong.

Hello computer. Make the game set in Millport. Not Millport now but Millport when I was about 16 in pixel-perfect detail. Some day that, some summer, some laugh...just...tonnes of pals and we'd just all kick about i dont want to be here anymore. i dont want to be here. i want to be there.

There's a fair chance I won't be streaming this weekend. Though I've been looking forward to it, I've got the flu, and I don't know how I'll feel by Sunday.

Scare'olyn🎃 | Cedig Crafts@carolyncedig.bsky.social · last wk.

Starting from 11th October, I will be streaming on twitch (most) Sunday afternoons. It will just be chill, chat, and crafting (unless the mood strikes otherwise!) I will pop a post up again on the day, but if you'd like to give me a follow you can find me here: www.twitch.tv/cascedig

Panel 4: Bruno walks away still with the remote in his hands and answers to the compliment: “no news there, pal”

"The sorrow of a thousand thousand worlds weighs heavy. And yet you can walk on."

A depiction of Ultima Thule, a location from the video game Final Fantasy 14. Dead worlds litter a ominous sky full of deep purple mists and darkness. A lonely path stretches before you leading into the horizon of a long-dead star.

Another classic, not sure if I've already posted this one here.

The image is a six panel black and white comic.

Panel 1 - a girl sits at her desk in front of a computer, looking disheartened. She says, "I dont know if I should post this art, who would even want to see it?"

Panel 2- A new person bursts through the door in the background with a loud BAM

Panel 3- The new person pushes the girl out of the way, smushing her face in the process, while slamming their fist down on the keyboard.

Panel 4- The computer shows that the art has been posted

Panel 5- The person makes direct eye contact with the girl while pushing their finger against their own phone screen

Panel 6- A motion blur is added to the last panel, enhancing the impact of the new notifications on the new post. It reads, "(Friend) Liked Post just now" Followed by "(Friend) commented 'I FUCKING LOVE THIS AND I LOVE U'"

Underneath the last panel is a watermark that reads, Shubbabang

Imagine how fucking rotted a person's brain has to be to submit a 50,000 line pull request and not perceive that what you are doing is *incredibly* embarrassing and antisocial. A vibecoder can no longer notice they're greeting people by spraying hot dogshit all over the place.

If it works, that's pretty cool; I didn't think
would ever see this implemented (I also didn't
expect LLMs to exist).
However, this is not something you can PR
here, or anywhere. You sent me a nearly 50k
line diff, unasked for, completely LLM built, and
you somehow expect me to review it. There is
SO MUCH unrelated garbage here. Never
minding all of the docs and Python, you've
somehow touched basically all of the upstream
HDL, which already had MSU1 support, so idk
what in the world you're doing.
This kind of behavior is not acceptable. You are
infringing on the time and brainpower of people
by pushing "your" content that little/no of your
brainpower went into; completely unrequested.
I hope for the sake of all responsible
maintainers that you do not do such a thing
again.
Again, I think it's cool that you and your LLM
supposedly got this to work. It has no place in
my world.

Every cis woman in my life also had zero clue My stepmom was like "well don't go too big with your implants, a D cup is pretty big" "...humor me, what cup do do think I have right now?" "Like, a B?" "Momma, I'm a 38D *right now*. Do I look pretty big?" "Wait, really?!" "Yeap." 🤯

Spooky Crust Punk (jump scare edition)@hatebeing.online · last wk.

a few people on this site right now would do well to read this tbh. rehabilitative justice is not what you're arguing for, you're attempting to make space for perpetrators while denying the victim's right to theirs. cw: SA discussion in detail and at length theanarchistlibrary.org/library/will...

This was the thing endlessly repeated in shock and disbelief by anarchists about the KYLR discourse online: “Why are you suddenly making liberal arguments about rapists that you would never make about fascists, cops, bosses, etc? Why shouldn’t we use the anarchist toolkit here too?”

The sense of betrayal is intense. And I’ve seen literally dozens of comrades ditch social media entirely over it.

This was, of course, the intent.
