Get comfortable engaging wirh media that isn’t what you consider “professional standard”. I’ve felt more from eight page zines made by one person than $150 million budget soulless blockbusters.

This week I'm doing a lot of work around audio, and it's honestly been so refreshing and exciting. It's easy to underestimate sound in game design, but once you start investing some time you realize you've been neglecting a main pillar. It also made me want to work on a stealth game now.

One of my goals with Jazzpunk was to create the game's soundtrack using mostly synthesizers and effects that would've existed "at the time" ie: 1960s. I had built two EMS "VCS3" synthesizers, so I used these in conjunction with many different spring reverbs and tape echos machines, some were DIY

my DIY Synthi A another DIY synthia I built, along with a DIY sequencer and patch matrixa VCS3 inside of jazzpunk's hotel room

I am super excited now. This is such a nerdy game I'm making, jesus christ. I implemented MFDs, as terminals for a main computer in the plane. There's a transparent display for overlays too. The current available programs are all hard coded by me, but I'm really interested in a scripting language.

idea: FaceTime SAW put your phone in an elaborate murder trap then video call someone. now they need to escape or your phone gets fucking annihilated

For some people, video games are about the wonder of exploring strange, thrilling, action-packed worlds but for me the joy of video games has always been all about moving to a franchise-centric planning strategy to better focus resources on long-term growth and stability amid broader restructuring.

my old game Crystal Control II is like a dollar on Steam rn. it’s a competitive bullet hell game for two players. local multiplayer only, but probably works fine over Remote Play shares, purchases, and reviews all deeply appreciated store.steampowered.com/app/499580/C...

Crystal Control II is a competitive bullet hell game for two players. Capturing crystals gives you more firepower, which means more bullets for your opponent to dodge. First player to get hit loses!

"Box" 3d? Clearly inferior to my own 3D physics engine BallBox, that does boxes AND balls. This is excellent though. The lack of options for C have been disappointing for years. The only reason I'm not ditching my own efforts is because I made some super specific features for my own game.

I’m happy to announce the release of a new open source 3D physics engine called Box3D. I’ve been working on this project for a few years now, but it represents over 20 years of experience writing physics engines for games. Read more here: box2d.org/posts/2026/0...

I dug up a 2010 backup of The Curse of Issyos, from back when it was styled like an arcade game. The project began as an 8-bit game, then evolved into this, and eventually split into two projects: the arcade-style Maldita Castilla (2012) and the 8-bit Issyos that was released later (2015).
