"I am fully assured that God does not, and therefore that men ought not to, require any more of any man than this, to believe the Scripture to be God's word, and to endeavour to find the true sense of it, and to live according to it." (Wm. Chillingworth)

This guy never served. He faked an injury to avoid the draft. None of his children have served. He called those who did serve their country "suckers and losers." He skipped the centenary memorial for servicemen who died in WWI because it was drizzling. This is more than usually repellent.

Trump AI slop post showing him on the battlefield in a general's uniform flanked by bad AI versions of Patton and MacArthur

It's really tiresome seeing endless Catholic editorials about how "young people" want "authentic" Catholicism and then just completely unconsciously conflate "authenticity" with the luxury beliefs and religious hobbies of materially comfortable right-wingers

If you are a man with a profession that puts you anywhere in the public eye or in a position of authority over anyone, and you have a baby, i firmly believe it is your duty to take paternity leave. Be a good example.

It also happened last month, when ICE released Priciliano Trejo from CoreCivic's Stewart Detention Center in Georgia shortly before he died. Trejo was suffering from leukemia when ICE snatched him. ICE transferred custody to his family shortly after he fell into a coma and died. He was 29.

Wow! @menendez.house.gov says that the EXACT scenario I flagged two months ago, where ICE "releases" someone having a medical emergency solely so their death won't be recorded as occurring while in custody, happened last month at the infamous Delaney Hall detention center in Newark, NJ.

El-Sayed: "Once a government agency like ICE is told it has impunity to do the worst things and violate the highest law of the land, which is the Constitution itself, I don't think you can reform or retrain. I think we need to start from scratch ... I think we need to abolish it."
