Fire Susan Collins, #Maine! She has ZERO concern for you or for what the GOP enabling of Trump has done to your family budgets. Try Troy Jackson as your next Senator. Troy is one of you! He will take his work ethic & care for you and your state to DC. He will make a difference! #ProudBlue #Pinks

We sure do market ourselves as having democratic elections and fuck look at this. Each American or resident should be capped at $100. Zero dollars from outside the United States. Politicians can have a carwash for all I care.

Jared Kushner’s hacked iPhone revealed he promised MBS and MBZ he would push their agenda with Trump if they participated in a secret fund, with the two royals initially discussing over $10B before ultimately placing at least $2B into his accounts. Paywalled, use archive. archive.ph/FHGAt

I found a new off-road route, but I was riding slick road tires. Rode it anyway... Happy to report that I survived, as did my tires. It was a bit sketchy in some loose corners and cross-sloped downhills. It was a fun trail overall. Hitting it with an MTB next time. #Cycling #Trail #Outdoors #Ride

A sleek black road bicycle leans against a thick tree trunk beside a woodland trail. The bike has thin tires, curved drop handlebars, disc brakes, a dark frame, and a water bottle secured inside the frame. A small black bag is attached beneath the saddle. The bicycle rests among fallen leaves, exposed roots, and low green plants.

The broad dirt-and-gravel path stretches from the foreground into the distance along the left side of the image. Scattered autumn leaves in shades of red, orange, yellow, and brown cover the ground. Tall trees line the trail, their textured trunks rising into a canopy of green foliage with hints of autumn color. Dense grasses and leafy vegetation fill the right side. Sunlight filters through the trees, creating patches of brightness and shadow across the path. Far in the distance, two people walk along the trail beneath a clear blue sky visible through the branches. The scene feels peaceful and inviting, capturing a quiet moment during an autumn bicycle ride.

I’m no foreign policy expert but no one should have this much power. “Starlink provides a lifeline for Ukrainian forces on the front lines attacking Russian troops and defending themselves from strikes. With a seeming flick of a switch, Musk has the power to alter the course of a deadly conflict.”

Exclusive | Musk Ordered Starlink Slowdown That Blindsided Ukraine

The SpaceX founder authorized the move and has been discussing Ukraine with Trump, but the president has denied ordering the restrictions.

😳 Trump loses it and SNAPS at a string of reporters, says Ilhan Omar might "go to jail," calls Somalia "a shit house," and boasts that thanks to a new program he announced today Americans "will make millions of dollars by turning others in" during absolutely deranged Oval Office event Supercut:

Interesting thread. More judges should be taking a stand to uphold policies and procedures, and then forcing attorneys to sign documents where they can be held accountable for any malfeasance.

At 10am Judge Ana Reyes will begin an evidentiary hearing in the golf course case at 10am. I'll try to live-blog from the US Courthouse media room for @lawfaremedia.org . This is a case to stop Trump from converting a historic public golf course, open to all, to a Trump style championship course.

"What's the point of writing about national security—or, for that matter, of having a national security apparatus at all—if the men in those jobs (it’s mostly men who fucked this up) can’t spot the most obvious domestic threat to U.S. national security since the bombardment of Fort Sumter in 1861?"

Hostile Takeover: The Trump-Russia Merger is Almost Complete

The President is a Kremlin asset. When will we start treating him as such?

We need to ask ourselves: For all that Trump is giving Putin — the lifted sanctions, the Starlink disabling, the promise of a 3 way summit — what is he getting in return? The midterms loom, Trump is desperate, and Putin is a master of election interference. We can’t ignore the obvious.

“After 10 years of Trump insisting that reports of his cooperation with Russia were a hoax, here we are, watching one profoundly unpopular man tear apart the global system under which we have lived for 80 years in order to climb into bed with Vladimir Putin.”

The AI attack-ad nightmare is coming true #Trump

The AI attack-ad nightmare is coming true

AI is producing reality-bending midterm ads about defaced Bibles, upscale dinners and a board game with a "Death to America" playing card. Why it matters: The warnings about deepfakes are coming true. Election laws haven't kept pace with a world where campaigns can put words in opponents' mouths and create realistic-looking scenes that didn't happen. The Wesleyan Media Project found $137 million had been spent on 220 AI-generated ads through Oct. 11, mostly from Republicans. Four states have laws prohibiting certain uses of AI-generated deepfakes in political ads, while 27 more require some form of disclosure about their use. No federal law specifically regulates AI-generated political ads. The big picture: An Axios analysis found numerous political ads partly or fully made by generative AI, sometimes undisclosed. Georgia Senate: Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC aligned with Senate Republicans, has run a series of AI-generated deepfake ads depicting Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff getting beauty treatments. The ads mock Ossoff's reported campaign spending on hair and makeup , saying he "talks pretty" but has "an ugly record" and "a lot to cover up." Ossoff said in a C-SPAN interview : "It is deeply troubling to see ... deepfake videos used to fabricate political advertising. And it's a s lippery slope toward the destruction of truth in political debate, and the ad should come down immediately." The ads don't disclose AI use, which Georgia law doesn't require. Michigan Senate: A super PAC called Front Line Action used AI in an ad depicting Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed in a fabricated family photo with podcaster Hasan Piker and four women wearing niqabs. Another AI-generated scene has El-Sayed playing a Risk-style board game with his half-sister , Eman Abdelhadi, and Piker. It depicts cards bearing statements that include "Death to America," "Do not Celebrate Thanksgiving" and "Celebrate 9/11." The group has defended the ad, telling CNN it is "grounded in El-Sayed's own public statements and documented reporting and records concerning him and individuals associated with or supportive of his campaign." The ad features both a written and spoken disclosure that it was "created in whole or in part with the use of artificial intelligence." New York governor: Republican Bruce Blakeman's campaign and allied super PACs have repeatedly used generative AI in ads attacking Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul, with varying degrees of disclosure. One AI-generated ad released by the Blakeman campaign depicts the Tooth Fairy struggling to come up with cash to give to children, saying she "just can't afford to be the Tooth Fairy in Kathy Hochul's New York." Another Blakesman spot says onscreen: "We asked AI what a truthful Kathy Hochul ad would look like." The ad features AI-generated scenes of Hochul attending an upscale dinner and standing outside a police precinct while a man asks her: "Want some crack?" Pennsylvania governor: A new ad from Republican candidate Stacy Garrity features an AI-generated version of Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro talking about taxes, abortion and data centers. The spot puts this quote in his mouth: "This ad was created with AI, thanks to big, beautiful data centers. Fact is, I was the one who fast-tracked data centers right here in PA, right after they handed me $5 million in political contributions." Shapiro spokesperson Manuel Bonder, in a statement to Axios, dismissed the ad as "cheap, dishonest AI bullshit." Texas Senate: Democratic candidate James Talarico has been a consistent target of AI-generated ads from both Republican Ken Paxton's campaign and outside super PACs. A Paxton campaign ad uses AI to depict Talarico defacing a Bible with crayon and saying, "In the beginning God was non-binary, and he wasn't a Christian. And God said, 'let there be six genders,' and there were." Talarico told NBC he "tried in the legislature to ban AI deepfake videos in political campaigns because they are misleading. They are lying about a candidate in this race." Kentucky's 6th District: No Going Back PAC, backed by President Trump's MAGA Inc., has run several ads using AI to boost Republican congressional candidate Ralph Alvarado. One ad features multiple AI-generated deepfakes of Democrat Zach Dembo, including one scene in which he stares into the camera. "I expected them to lie about my record, but I did not expect them to lie about my appearance," Dembo said in a statement to Axios, adding that "using AI to create fake or misleading images is the beginning of a very dangerous path for our democracy."
