Please stop saying “lockdowns.” There were never true lockdowns in the US, and it fuels far right narratives to repeat this inaccurate statement. You can say closures, you can say restrictions, or better, you can say public health measures which saved many lives.

We had stay-at-home orders, where although businesses were closed, you could still go outside whenever you wanted. Other countries had far stricter rules, and yet have been much more accepting of them as they saved many more lives.
I’m not even embarrassed by Trump anymore. I’m simply ashamed of this country for electing him.

It's the exact same playbook that segregationists ran against the NAACP in the 1950s. They sued to get membership lists in Arkansas during Little Rock, hoping to single them out for retribution. Meanwhile, Alabama -- this same state below -- just outlawed the organization entirely.

Why is anyone debating whether or not to “let Marjorie Taylor Greene into the tent”? She has not asked to be in a tent with you. Nothing indicates that she wants to be in it. She is positioning herself to appeal to people who hate your tent, and possibly to peel off a few people at the edges of it.
If there are political benefits on the margins from blood-red turf, great, but you don't expect it in a game that is rigged against you, and you certainly don't sacrifice the interests of your base, especially on issues of immigration and minority rights, in order to virtue signal to them.
Florida just ignored its constitution to gerrymander. Ohio has repeatedly defied court rulings to gerrymander. The legal infirmity here, which is wholly invented, is also piddling next to those. Revise the statute and push the map approved by voters into force.

But the truth is that even the Virginia decision is not enough to prevent Democrats from taking the House if we have a wave election. But we have to have a wave election.
