Human, historian, hiker, photographer and proud cat momma

This semester I am teaching adjunct but have been giving many public lectures. Women's History Month was especially busy. Between Zoom and in person lectures life was hectic. OH, I am also down 33 pounds since December, been working hard.

Adelita Grijalva won her election fair and square. Now House Speaker Mike Johnson is refusing to swear her in because she would be the final signature to release the Epstein files. Mr. Speaker, respect democracy. Obey the law. Swear Representative Grijalva in immediately.

Bray is a historian at Rutgers who received death threats after landing on Turning Points USA's Professor Watchlist. As a result, he announced he was moving to Europe. And then this happened. This kind of harassment and abuse of scholars is Charlie Kirk's legacy and it's only getting worse.

“Someone” cancelled my family’s flight out of the country at the last second. We got our boarding passes. We checked our bags. Went through security. Then at our gate our reservation ‘disappeared.’

First of all, Fuck You, Hegseth. It’s literally the CONGRESSIONAL Medal of Honor. Congress can enact the “Remove the Stain” Act anytime it wants. Not your call Rumbo. 2nd, their place in history is indeed settled, with the Paxton Boys, the Gnadenhutten child killers, and the Sand Creek mutilators.

Trump gets humiliated at the UN, Kimmel returns, he drops further in the polls and just goes fucking crazy at the White House today. Insane new tariffs, Comey, war against his domestic opponents, shutting down the government. He is losing it, and it’s getting dangerous out there.

If you want to understand how truly despicable Hegseth’s Wounded Knee statement is, read Heather Richardson’s book. The tensions & military build-up were driven by federal patronage, corruption, factional politics, & the GOP’s desire to control the Western states. The GOP is worse now.

"A brutal massacre followed, in which it’s estimated almost 150 Native Americans were killed (some historians put this number at twice as high), nearly half of them women and children." www.history.com/this-day-in-...

Pete Hegseth: Under my direction, the soldiers who fought at the Battle of Wounded Knee will keep their medals.

This decision is final. Their place in history is settled.

Four years ago, I tested for COVID. I'd had dinner with someone with cancer the night before. Thanks to the vaccine, I did not give that dinner companion COVID. And I only ran a low-grade fever for a few days. Fuck that idiot RFK Jr. and the equally stupid buffoon who hired him.

I have been away from this platform for some time and have limited lots of social media interaction. So, for your enjoyment the red rocks of Sedona. I know the nation is in the grips of authoritarianism but we need to find beauty to keep grounded and sane.
