An acrobat ant worker tends sunflower aphids for honeydew. Austin, Texas. I think this photo works compositionally because of the superimposition of a single ant against the repeated backdrop of almost Xeroxed aphids.

One of the first cool guys we found was this jumping spider, which looked very much like a pseudoscorpion. I found him crawling on my leg while we were eating lunch under a mango tree.

Acorn ants, Temnothorax curvispinosus, in an old acorn in Illinois. They need an acorn in a particular stage of decay, usually a year old and already hollowed out. If you're looking for acorn ants, you won't find them in the fresh ones.

Not a natural sharer, but just wanted to say...a year and a half ago, I got the biggest single order of my life from a famous artist I deeply admire. (No pressure!) Took me *forever* to finish. But they were patient (and so kind), I delivered, and they are happy. This whole thing might work! 😅
