Abolish ICE. Stop traffic violence. So fucking gay. Free Palestine. Trans rights now. No this is not contradictory. Interests include landscape architecture, urbanism, quilting, transit, queer supremacy, bicycle infrastructure, fermentation 📍 Oakland, CA
yes, trump is a sociopathic freak, but the far bigger problem is that every single Republican in Congress is a cuck with a humiliation fetish the founding fathers envisioned a mad king president but what they never imagined was such a cucked congress
the intentional abdication by Congress of nearly all of its constitutional responsibilities is at the core of most of our problems as a nation
Bad night for reactionary centrist concern trolls.
The numbers coming out of Detroit are not enough for Stevens. It’s a bloodbath
I am so triggered by RJK Jr's comment about ICU's being empty during #COVID. I re-read what I wrote after one of the surges. How do others forget. The trauma was--and is--real.
I'm An ICU Doctor. I’m Haunted By What I’ve Seen During The Recent COVID-19 Surge.
“I can’t stop thinking about the 40-something man who told me, ‘I can’t die like this. I just got engaged and have a 6-month-old baby.’ I encouraged him to be positive, but that didn’t stop him from d...

I've tested several "AI detection" tools for my day job. Can confirm: All bullshit.
"A.i." is bullshit. "A.i." detection tools are bullshit. "A.i." in education is bullshit. "A.i." in the arts is bullshit. "A.i." in business and government is bullshit.
I was recently in a few Spanish cities, including Malaga, and it was great to see shade structures all around. The critical thing is that European cities care about people outside of cars. North American cities mostly don't. Shade matters for people walking, biking, rolling, and waiting for buses
A friend’s recent photo of civic shading in Malaga
Wait until you hear about public schools and people without kids.
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
It's genuinely a massive problem that the median voter both 1) believes "criminal illegal immigrants" to be an astronomically more serious threat than they actually are, and 2) believes that the legal immigration process is substantially easier than it actually is.
I understand your position, but those are different situations. People straight up both envision a system much milder than exists and cannot imagine a modern world without that imaginary system. By default they have no real grasp of reality on the matter, but are usu. sympathetic to individuals.
when people say "do your own research" they generally mean "do not trust anyone with any relevant training or experience"
I'm a full Professor of Immunology and fully vaccinated. I didn't get vaccinated out of obedience, but after decades of studying the immune system and evaluating all evidence. Calling that "lack of critical thinking" is not an argument. It's ideology masked as pretend intellect.
As one who works in academia, I was amazed at how submission and capitulation seem to be built into the culture. By March of 2025, universities had basically thrown in the towel and were demonstrating that "intellectual freedom" has no real meaning in the one place it really should.
This will be an enduring stain on AAU and quisling Barbara Snyder
Time to add another formerly respected institution to the garbage pile, this time @aau.edu, which just worked with the Trump admin to endorse resegregation in high education, embedding MAGA fraudsters as faculty, and banning student expression. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
As a Religious Studies professor, this directly targets my livelihood in a way that makes a mockery of any supposed profession of concern the administration has ever expressed for me as a Jewish person on campus.
President Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/aaAEu6v
Besides, the problem with communities of terrible people is not that they’re insular, the problem is who they are and what they believe. White supremacist communities aren’t bad because they’re BUBBLES. They’re bad because they’re WHITE SUPREMACISTS.
The point of communities is that there is one for everybody, not that everyone is welcome in every community. Complaining about bubbles makes you sound like a child throwing a tantrum because you weren’t allowed in a bar.
There are communities you can’t join because of who you are and that’s okay! I thankfully do not need to be in a cancer survivor community, for example. They’re not a bubble because I can’t join. They’re not a bubble because they value the participation of people within the community more than mine.
All communities have varying levels of boundaries and insularity, sometimes for good reasons. That’s what makes them communities. “Bubble” adds nothing to the conversation except your opinion that you dislike the community.
This is bullshit, and if Cornyn and Tillis say this is enough, their earlier claimed concerns were also bullshit.
NEWS: Todd Blanche says he is rescinding his May 18 order establishing the “anti-weaponization fund”
It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better
The WNBA has never had a trans woman play in the league’s 30-year history and now the right and other anti-trans activists are hammering the league over something that has never been an issue, proving once again it isn’t about protection but exhibiting cruelty toward trans people.
It was really fun reading Emily Wilson's criticism of Nolan's Odyssey but I really think she needs to see more movies
The polarization isn't coming from social media. The polarization is coming from the fact that half of the politicians and 36% of the voters openly support ethnic cleansing policies, and 64% of the voters do not support ethnic cleansing. Normal people don't want to be civil with ethnic cleansers.
Just walking out of the Odyssey and I thoroughly enjoyed it. But the thing I gotta say is I have always been team Anne Hathaway, and I have always been correct
So I know I have an addictive personality and this is why I allow myself zero interaction with gambling sites and llms
This is exactly how people talk about gambling and drinking.
"Our Governor just signed legislation that protects children from accessing adult material online. This event mocks the very protections so many have fought for by exposing preschoolers to adult material that is not only inappropriate, but far beyond their level of cognitive development." The book:
