Mandatory genital exams for girls who want to play sport The horror This is sexual assault. What other words are there for mandating medically unecessary genital exams for girls only? Sickening.
Good framing.
"The people who spent years blaming migrants [for rising house prices] should now have to explain why their theory no longer fits the facts. More importantly, journalists should be pushing them to explain why," writes @maiyazize.bsky.social in @thepointau.bsky.social thepoint.com.au/opinions/260...

Fact: When a Democratic politician/candidate turned out to be a very bad person like Platner and Sen.Bob Menedez ,the Democratic party gets rid of them While a GOP politician or candidate turns out to be criminals or destructive to the party like Paxton , they'll support them all the way to hell
This is wild. 93% of the renewable electricity generation added to the Irish grid over that last decade now powers data centers, rather than reducing fossil fuel use. Data centers have pretty much annihilated the health and climate benefits those renewables could have provided.
What is even more striking is that data centre demand has matched 93% of the growth in renewable electricity generation (wind + solar + hydro) over the past decade. If we measure since 2020, data centre demand has grown nearly 3-times faster than renewable electricity growth.
I'm so disillusioned, I almost don't even care who gets the FIFA Peace Prize next year

There’s a name for countries where you’re not allowed to criticise the leader. What do you call a country where you’re free to criticise your own leader, but not the leader of a foreign country?
I think that Louise Adler raises an important issue - see below.
There is a growing opposition to AUKUS in the ALP It’s not just Peter Garrett and Paul Keating. Labor has not made the case for AUKUS. The decision was top down with still no attempt to deal with legitimate concerns. A stacked national conference is not true democracy.
